Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) Policy
SwissPay.ai is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions breaches across the businesses we serve.
Our commitment
SwissPay operates in line with applicable Anti-Money-Laundering and Counter-Terrorist-Financing laws and the requirements of our acquiring partners and the card networks. We maintain a risk-based program designed to detect and prevent financial crime.
Know Your Customer and due diligence
Before onboarding a merchant we verify the identity of the business and its beneficial owners, assess the nature of the business, and apply due diligence proportionate to risk. Higher-risk categories receive enhanced due diligence. We may request documents at onboarding and on an ongoing basis.
Transaction monitoring
We monitor transactions and account behavior for patterns that may indicate money laundering, fraud or other financial crime, and we investigate activity that falls outside expected patterns.
Sanctions screening
We screen businesses and relevant parties against applicable sanctions and watchlists at onboarding and on an ongoing basis, and we do not process for parties subject to prohibitions.
Reporting and record-keeping
Where we identify reportable activity, we escalate and report it to the relevant authorities as required by law, and we keep records for the periods the law requires. We cooperate with regulators, acquirers and law enforcement.
Training and responsibility
Relevant staff receive AML training appropriate to their role, and the program is reviewed and updated as regulations and risks change.
